Yes yes, I know, yet again it's been awhile since I blogged. I suppose that sometimes I just get caught up in life and forget to take time out of my day to type out my thoughts. That being said, here is the latest.
After a rough weekend I was glad to enjoy a relaxing day off of work before beginning rehearsals for the next show, Under the boardwalk. I went to the bank and ran some other errands before sitting down that night and preparing for rehearsal. Woke up at 8:00 to the sound of a soft, sweet voice, and then was given distinct instructions to go back to sleep for an hour, which I did. Woke up again at 9:00, threw on some clothes and did bathroom things before heading out the door and over to Starbucks. Grabbed a vanilla latte, was impressed the girl behind the counter remembered my name, and drove to the theatre. Arrived at 9:40 and unlocked, made the coffee, turned on the lights and prepared for the reading of the script and some table work. After lunch rendered a plethora of productivity on my end while the cast learned music. I cleaned the green room, cleaned the booth and props area, and reorganized and cleaned my "office." Okay, so my office isn't really an office but rather a space at the end of the long counter in the dressing room, but regardless, it's mine. During the evening break I took a nap to try and rejuvinate myself from the dissapating latte from earlier and woke up yet again to a sweet, soft voice. I talked to Christie for awhile (yes, she is said sweet, soft voice) and then headed back to work where I wrote down two movements in 3 hours as most of the collaboration was given to coreography and music. I find that my life during this rehearsal may be very boring and I am totally okay with that after just coming off two big shows and still in the middle of one of them.
After the day of work was through, I dropped our temporary musical director off at the condo then came home and immediatly opened the Alaskan Amber beer that had been calling my name all day. I made some delicious pasta and then went to my room to do the evening report and talk to one said soft, sweet voice. It was a good day when all was said an done. Now the shower is calling my stinking carcass and my bed is calling to a clean one. I would much rather be sleeping on sheets that smelled like clean laundry though, but I suppose mine will do for the night.
