I am sure that most of you have already made your new years resolutions and are well on your way down the path to success in the new year. I am also sure by this time some of you have broken those resolutions and given up all hope of succeeding in the new year. The thing that these two types of people have in common is that they will both read this blog and think to themselves it is about 18 days too late. This being 2009 and me having a ton of stuff happen in the past year, I just wanted to recap some of the top events of 2008 in the life of yours truly and then tell you what I am looking forward to in 2009.
In 2008:
I rang in the new year with two very dear friends in Las Vegas.
I went bowling with said friends at 6:30a.m. on Jan. 1, 2008, beer in hand.
I moved to a new city and state.
I got a job doing something I'd only barely done before.
I made new friends.
I walked through a west coast rainstorm.
I pursued something that was worth it.
I fell in love.
I kissed a girl on the beach for the first time.
I went on a date to a drive in movie.
I cried in front of someone without being ashamed.
I let my guard down.
I walked on the beach in my bare feet.
I ate really good sushi.
I ate oysters for the first time.
I braved Los Angeles traffic.
(All of these are beginning with "I" but I promise I'm not an egotist).
I spent Christmas away from home.
I did something that scared me.
These are just the highlights of the past year, and that being said, here are some things I am looking forward to in 2009:
I would like to experience a different kind of theatre and work there.
I would like to live in a new city.
I'd like to be more educated in my work.
I am determined to save money.
I'd like to see a major theatrical production.
I would like to visit New York.
I will stop biting my damn nails.
I will work out more regularly.
And most of all I am excited to see what the future holds.
As it turns out this post segues into the next, so please read on...
