A new heading, new changes.

Ok, I am out of rehearsal mode. We opened Mummy and so far it is going well. I took a few pictures of the set and you can see them on my flicker page to the right. Also, as you may have noticed, I have changed the title and banner of the page. The old one just seemed to plain, and I thought I should somehow incorporate the theatre aspect of my life into the banner somehow. The picture isn't of the theatre I work at, it's actually The Grand Theatre London, Ontario. What really caught my eye was the art work on the ceiling. I hope I'm not infringing on any copyrights.
As this is a diary, I am going to try to get back to the diary format and start each entry with the beginning of my day (which will usually start with the morning bathroom visit and then the cup of coffee. Exciting, I know), and then moving on through my day. That being said, here is the entry for September 27th, 2008:

Wake up, don't bother with pants, take the morning bathroom trip. Swish some mouthwash and head upstairs for some coffee. It is a two show day, the first two show Saturday of the run of Mummy so it will be intersting to see the times and what the changeover will entale. Nick is already awake and having breakfast. This reminds me that I need to start getting up earlier and doing that whole thing that involves eating the most important meal of the day. I pour myself some coffee, chat with Nick for awhile and then head downstairs to check email and other internet stuff (no, not porn you pervs). After that I hop in the shower and get ready for work.
I head to the theatre and Gary, our Production Designer is crawling around the set (not literally) putting up some finishing touches and safety elements. We chit chat for awhile then he shows me how to re-wire a light that has been giving us some trouble. I'm a fast learner and we are done in about 10 minutes. I then start setting up for the afternoon show. It was a good show, good crowd. We are done in time for the actors to have a full 30 minute break before the next call. I am done setting up for the evening show in about 35 minutes and I, for the first time since June, have time to have dinner between Saturday shows. It was amazing and relaxing.
The evening crowd was even better than the afternoon crowd. They were super responsive and involved. They gave us the response we were looking for and the cast and myself were super stoked that they were enthusiastic. After the show I came home and made some dinner, brought my computer upstairs and checked email while watching 101 Dalmations with Jordan and John (and Puss Puss who hopped through the upstairs window and bee-lined for my lap where she made herself right at home). About halfway through the movie I got tired and headed downstairs for the second shower of the day and then bed. I settled into bed listening to some acoustic songs and fell asleep by about 2:00a.m.

Extracarricular

I have found a lot of time recently awarded to me so I have been brushing up (pun intended) on my Photoshop skills! I'll post some samples as soon as I get a few projects done.
